During my junior year as an undergrad, I studied the art of the human body. It could be expressed in many forms, however, I was particularly drawn to tattoos and the history of it. I focused on the Japanese style tattoos and discovered the meaning behind the tattoos. It was a form of self expression and it was subtle. Often times, it was placed on the body where no one can really see it except you. Although I have no experience in tattoo, I still wanted to recreate and experience the whole process. I interviewed a couple of my friends about their backgrounds and created designs that revolved around their stories. Finally, I hand-drawn the tattoo onto their body with markers.
